Castro Valley, CA – (June 25, 2025) – At the June 25th board meeting, the Castro Valley Unified School District Board of Education appointed Coron Brinson as the Assistant Principal at Castro Valley High School.

Mr. Coron Brinson’s leadership extends to vital roles, including serving as the School Site Council, Title IX coordinator, and lead for both the Physical Education and Athletic Departments, in addition to supervising several student groups. Mr. Brinson has also served as Dean of Instruction and 8th Grade English/Language Arts Teacher at Golden State College Preparatory Academy, Dean of Student Culture at Cristo Rey De La Salle East Bay High School, and 7th Grade English-Language Arts Teacher at EPIC Middle School.  His achievements are further recognized through the State of Black Oakland Education Impact Award and a Fulbright-Hays Scholarship.

Mr. Brinson earned a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Georgia, a Master of Education in Elementary Education from Lincoln University, and a Master of Public Administration from the University of Southern California. He is currently pursuing his Doctorate of Education at San Francisco State University.
